I have been a member of Purley Sports Club for 30 years and set up my personal training business in 2011. I have established and build up a very healthy gym membership and client list with more and more members seeking out the personalised and bespoke approach that sets me apart from other personal trainers.

I am also a qualified tennis coach and have played tennis for over 25 years, competing at university, county and national level. I have also, of course, played for Purley Sports Club tennis section!

As gym manager I have overseen the purchase and installation of the new gym equipment and have been instrumental in the design and planning of the new gym extension.

Expertise
  • Weight-loss
  • Hypertrophy
  • Sport-specific fitness

I am, and have always been, a sports fanatic. I come from a background of cricket, where I played at county level through my teens. I enjoy playing and watching sport at every opportunity. My philosophy is that physical activity is essential for our bodies to achieve optimal functionality and to stabilise our mental health. The main reason I enjoy personal training so much, is working with people on their strength and fitness, and watching them flourish through the benefits of exercise.

I like to keep my training sessions fun and varied, and will work with you closely to understand your fitness aspirations. I’ll ensure that any exercise is specific to your goals. I believe that anything can be achieved if you have realistic goals and are working to the right programme.

My main aim is to help you build new and healthy exercise habits starting with a regular and enjoyable training programme.

I offer one-to-one or two-to-one personal training, either at Purley Sports Club or in your home.

For the last 16 years I have worked at Guy’s and St Thomas NHS Trust in cancer care as a specialist rehabilitation trainer. My role has been to support cancer patients’ recovery and improve their fitness during and after treatment. I am passionate about inspiring and educating people to live a healthy life, and helping to prevent and/or recover from injury and illness.

Due to a health scare and following the birth of my son, I came across the benefits of weight training and quickly learnt that strength training is as important as aerobic exercise – particularly for women, who typically avoid it through a lack of understanding or confidence.

If you’re looking for a friendly, non-judgemental trainer who understands that just getting motivated and feeling confident can sometimes be the hardest part… that’s me!

If you would like me to help you take the first few daunting steps into the fitness world, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
